Mixtape: Funky Eccentric

The first ever mixtape from me has been released. It’s been a long time coming, but I have delivered as promised. Not that I get 100,001 clicks a day, but I did promise a couple of friends that I’d be releasing my mixtape this week. It’s my first so I’m fresh at this. Give me feed back on anything. Most of all listen and enjoy the short selection I chose.

Here goes. The mix was name “Funky Eccentric” because of the funk selection ranging from Curtis Mayfield to Boz Scaggs. I even tapered it off with The Brothers Johnson. I refer to my myself as being vintage from the bottom up. I should have been born around 54′ or 55′ so that I could have been in my primes in the mid 70’s. Every single thing about that era appeals to me. Well enough with my heavy wishes. Now for the tracks on “Funky Eccentric”

“Funky Eccentric”

1. Curtis Mayfield - Kung Fu
2. BT Express - Do it (til you satisfied)
3. KC & The Sunshine Band - I’m Your Boogie Man
4. Foxy - Get off
5. Boz Scaggs - Lowdown
6. Marvin Gaye - Funky Space Reincarnation
7. Change - A Lovers Holiday
8. Fatback - Backstrokin’
9. Booker T & The MG’s - Melting Pot
10. The Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter 23

Refills

This have to be the funniest iphone 4 videos thus far. These guys had me rolling with how seriously they played their parts. Via Funny or Die.

These are the funniest and best news slip ups ever on tv. Check it out — you need volume and a noose to stop you from bursting into laughter.

I remember when “Good Times” was the episode of choice. And no matter the circumstances they “keep they head above water, making a way” when they could. The “Jefferson’s” were moving on up to the east side and finally got that piece of pie they worked so hard for. And Sanford & Son bought and sold junk to live. Now we have Paris Hilton crowding my visual space trying to find a fake BFF. And Brodie Love (modern day male courting). I shall close my eyes and walk past TV’s.

You have to appreciate witty creative ideas that are sweet. I love the ending when the guy in boxer fell down at the tape, he kissed the lady–didn’t break a stride, jump on his stud, and set the eagle free to sore–the earth. Fun video! Via the Case.

I love how designer Jarred Bishop pushed the limits of the web. Notice the background as you scroll how the images are of the post, but only appears with it’s respective content. Unbelievable.

I laughed so hard after listening to these kids play the theme song of 2001. I’m not sure. But I ended up listening to this about five times and some how found some genius in it. You will need volume.
