Thank You, Kurt Rambis

I had to share the Thank You, Kurt Rambis website with you. My friend Aaron at Elasticheart showed me the website a couple weeks back. He came across it when he and I, along with two other co-workers, had a playground NBA series going on. Of course, Aaron and I were the Mighty Lakers and the other two unmentionables were the Celtics. Ewe!
We ended up with a serious battle to game six that ended two points shy of us going to game seven. Yeah, it’s hard to accept, they won. But all in all, that’s what’s so exciting about the Lakers & Celtics series. It’s normally hard fought and keeps you on the edge of your seats. Well, for us, on the edge of the basketball court trying to refrain from hurling our guts on the pavement (too graphic) from being out of shape.
But if I may, I’d like to share my favorite photos with you. First one, Larry “Dirty” Bird helping the Magic Man up probably after he elbowed him in the first place. Unfortunately, there’s only one frame captured here. Second, The Magic man. Enough said. Third, Artis Gilmore. Where have the hook and fro gone in basketball? Some young star should bring it back. Fourth, The Dr. never was short of hang time. I love the highlights of Dr. J’s dunks. Last but not least, Kurt Rambis himself showing off the pasty legs with hi hi tops on. This is a man fully confident in his appearance or totally clueless. But I have much respect.
Hope this was enough eye candy for the day. I know I enjoy a frequent visit of this site. It reminds us that vintage athletes looked a lot more athletic with short shorts on than modern day athletes with long shorts. That’s all together another post, but it’s my philosophy. Do you have a favorite photo from Thank You, Kurt Rambis? Post a comment below.
