31st Birthday: I Didn’t Get the Duke

First, I want to say thanks to all my friends that contacted me to wish me a great birthday. You guys are great and I love you tons. I hope I can see some of you soon. But I know that life sometimes keep crowded with things to do.

What are you doing for your birthday? I plan on hanging out tonight at Marz, Zens, and or Barrymore’s. Not sure which one will be first and or last. But if you’ve been to any one of these establishments you’ll agree that each of them provides it’s own unique dapper.

Zens, I especially love the blueberry pancake martini (I’m still a tough man, don’t judge). Marz, have an upscale New Yorkish feel that caters to my love for the city itself. They also serve appetizers that are mouth watering. And lastly, but certainly not the least, Barrymore’s. Barrymore’s is what I like to call a bespoke establishment. It’s the only one of it’s kind. Especially in Lincoln Nebraska. The atmosphere is at its best when the crowd comes in. It’s the only place I know, when its packed, is not cramped. The old movie theater is a charm. The high 40ft ceilings makes for the greatest of sound when local jazz artist like Darryl White and his quartet plays on the east wall. I’ll enjoy all three tonight maybe (pretty sure I will).

As for the other most asked questions. I will try and answer them as efficiently as I can remember and in no particular order.

Are you cutting your hair (miss understanding from facebook)? No, not yet? I’ve only gotten an edge up. I’m still developing the plan to reinvent my look. More on that later.

Are you getting one of the old fro hairstyles from the 70’s called The Duke? No, I was considering the fohawk (afro/mohawk - see here, and here). The Duke would be more maintenance than the dreads (ha). But if I was to get a Duke it would be the Playboy(see the full catalog of Dukes). Only because it’s the best round and clean edge next to the Swahilian. Not cause of the implications of the name. (smiling)

Do you feel old? Nope! I feel really good actually. I only had one episode where I thought I was getting old. It was when I let myself physically get out of shape. That’s not a problem anymore.

What are you doing for your birthday? Hanging out at Zens, Barrymore’s, and or Marz. Probably all three. Come out if you can. If you have my phone number…you are invited. Or if you are a friend on facebook.

Will you take 31 shots? Hell no! I have one stomach. I don’t want to ruin it. Maybe one or two shots. I was told by my best friend that a shot of Henessy and Red Bull will make me a crunk drunk. I’m sure he’s right. I only have capacity for 1. I’m a lite weight when it comes to drinking (not experienced).

What are you wearing tonight? I’m not sure. I need a birthday shirt. But I haven’t had time to go look for one. Since I’m on a budget…the best outfit to wear is my 31 year old birthday suit. I wouldn’t last five minutes. I’d be on TMZ for being “A naked Jamaican looking brother in downtown Lincoln Nebraska.”

Well, I’ve answered as much as I can remember. If more typical birthday questions come to mind I will edit this post and you will be able to see the answers. Or better yet, just leave a comment with the questions you have and I will respond. The answers will be straight forward. Ask anything you want.

Lol! The woman that got attacked is not even the star in the event–it’s the brother Antoine. Pay attention to the hair too. He’s already an over night success. You can watch the Antoine remix here. Funny! Thanks bro for sharing.

This have to be the funniest iphone 4 videos thus far. These guys had me rolling with how seriously they played their parts. Via Funny or Die.

These are the funniest and best news slip ups ever on tv. Check it out — you need volume and a noose to stop you from bursting into laughter.

I remember when “Good Times” was the episode of choice. And no matter the circumstances they “keep they head above water, making a way” when they could. The “Jefferson’s” were moving on up to the east side and finally got that piece of pie they worked so hard for. And Sanford & Son bought and sold junk to live. Now we have Paris Hilton crowding my visual space trying to find a fake BFF. And Brodie Love (modern day male courting). I shall close my eyes and walk past TV’s.

You have to appreciate witty creative ideas that are sweet. I love the ending when the guy in boxer fell down at the tape, he kissed the lady–didn’t break a stride, jump on his stud, and set the eagle free to sore–the earth. Fun video! Via the Case.

I love how designer Jarred Bishop pushed the limits of the web. Notice the background as you scroll how the images are of the post, but only appears with it’s respective content. Unbelievable.

I laughed so hard after listening to these kids play the theme song of 2001. I’m not sure. But I ended up listening to this about five times and some how found some genius in it. You will need volume.
